Galtane Anticipates and Supports the Evolution of European Packaging
The European PPWR – Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40, concerning packaging and packaging waste, establishes a new European framework aimed at reducing packaging waste, improving its recyclability, promoting the use of recycled materials, and limiting the unnecessary use of resources.
As part of this regulatory evolution, Galtane has initiated a progressive adaptation of its packaging and practices to meet the PPWR requirements according to their application schedule.
Our approach specifically focuses on:
- reducing the quantity of material needed for our packaging, where technically feasible;
- increasing the use of recycled materials, especially for our plastic packaging;
- improving the recyclability of packaging and its various components;
- evaluating our packaging to avoid components or material combinations that could complicate recycling;
- progressively adapting packaging identification and information, in accordance with future European requirements;
- monitoring implementing acts, delegated acts, harmonized standards, and recommendations that clarify the regulation’s application procedures.
This approach is part of a continuous improvement and eco-design strategy, in collaboration with our packaging manufacturers and suppliers.
Galtane actively monitors the evolution of the PPWR regulatory framework and progressively adapts its packaging to meet applicable requirements and their various deadlines.
