Its effectiveness is superior to household vinegar. Galtane Descaler acts faster than vinegar, especially on old limescale. Effective with cold water, its action will be faster and enhanced with hot water. Without a pungent odor, Galtane Descaler is effective for cleaning faucets, sanitary ware, and areas affected by limescale. Precaution: Although milder, lactic acid-based descaler remains corrosive. It causes skin irritation and serious eye damage. It is imperative to wear protective clothing, protective gloves, protective eyewear, and/or face protection.

Lactic acid interacts better with calcium carbonate than acetic acid.

It allows for more homogeneous dissolution of limescale, with fewer streaks after rinsing. Its action on CaCO₃ limescale is very good. Galtane Descaler allows for better complexation of calcium, thus leading to more complete dissolution. Galtane Descaler does not emit an acetic odor that overwhelms the user.
