Galtane Adapts Its Communication to New European Requirements for Environmental Claims
The European EmpCo Directive (EU) 2024/825, concerning consumer empowerment in the green transition, strengthens the rules applicable to environmental information and claims communicated to consumers.
Its primary aim is to ensure clear, precise, relevant, and verifiable information, and to better protect consumers against environmental claims that may be imprecise, unsubstantiated, or misleading.
In this context, Galtane has initiated a process of reviewing and progressively adapting its communication, particularly on its packaging, technical data sheets, commercial materials, and digital content.
Our approach specifically focuses on:
- reviewing the environmental claims associated with our products;
- verifying and, when necessary, reformulating the terms and arguments used;
- seeking more precise and objectively justifiable information;
- identifying the technical or documentary elements that substantiate the announced characteristics;
- progressively adapting our labels, commercial documents, digital materials, and communications;
- raising awareness among our partners and points of sale regarding the new requirements applicable to environmental communications.
This initiative is part of our commitment to communicate about our products’ characteristics transparently, with documentation, and in compliance with the European regulatory framework.
Galtane is actively monitoring the implementation of the EmpCo Directive and adapting its communication to meet the requirements applicable from September 27, 2026.
